Is it safe?

Ask any studio what is single-use and what is cleaned between guests. Here is ours:

• Needles and ink caps are used once and thrown away. We open them in front of you.
• Gloves are single-use.
• The table and the machine are wrapped fresh before each guest.
• The bed and chair are wiped down with disinfectant between guests.
• The tattoo machine is sterilised with UV light.

How much does it cost?

You get the price before you book. Nothing is added afterwards.

Full sleeve, back or leg: we give you one price for the whole piece once we've seen your idea, the placement and the size. It's worked out at our artists' rate of 1 million VND an hour (about US$38), and agreed before we start.

Prices are set in Vietnamese dong. Dollar figures are rounded, at roughly 26,000 dong to the US dollar.

Payment is by bank transfer or cash, in Vietnamese dong. We don't take cards yet; from abroad you can pay through Wise. Large pieces are paid session by session.

How far ahead should I book?

For a small piece, message us with your dates and we'll tell you what's free.

For a custom design, start before you fly. A 10% deposit holds your date. The first design reaches you within 3 to 5 days of your deposit, and each round of changes within 3 days. Three rounds of changes are included; from the fourth, each round adds 2.5% of the price. Nothing is tattooed until you say yes.

The deposit isn't refundable, and it comes off the price of your first session. Moving your date costs nothing. From abroad, Wise is the easiest way to send it.

Can I just walk in?

Yes. If one of our artists has a free slot when you come by, we'll do our best to fit you in. To be sure of a time, message us first.

How old do I have to be?

We tattoo guests aged 18 and over.

How much can I get done on a short trip?

A large session runs 6 to 8 hours. Skin takes ink less well when it's tattooed many days in a row, so we tattoo two days, rest one day, then carry on. On a two-week stay that is ten sessions at most.

For scale: the full back piece on our awards page took twelve sessions.

Tell us how long you're in Vietnam and we'll say plainly what fits: the whole piece, a first stage, or something smaller.

Will I be able to explain what I want?

Yes. Message us in English on Instagram before you come. At the studio, Leo, one of our artists, speaks English. If you'd rather talk it through first, ask for a video call and we'll set a time together.

Aftercare on the road

• If we cover your tattoo with a film, keep it on for three days and put nothing on it.
• Then take it off, wash with clean water and let it air dry. Skip the soap on the tattoo.
• A day or two later, start a very thin layer of moisturiser. It will itch. Please don't scratch.
• Swimming and the sea: best after one week, never before day 4. Keep it out of the sun while it heals.
• Flying is fine.

If it hurts in a way that feels wrong, message us straight away, wherever you are.

Beach days on your trip? Get tattooed after them, or leave a week in between.

What if it heals unevenly after I've gone home?

If any part heals faded or uneven, we touch it up for free, for life, whatever the reason. Living far away? We agree on a date with you online before you travel.

Can I get something Vietnamese?

Lý and Trần dynasty dragons, bronze drums, lotus, Lady Triệu on her elephant: these are motifs we draw often. Every design is made for one person. We don't copy other artists' work.

What should I do before my session?

• Eat and sleep well. Skip alcohol the day before.
• Wear dark, loose clothes that are easy to take off or roll up.
• You can bring up to two people. There is a place for them to sit.

Pain is different for everyone, so we won't put a number on it.
